Dr Fiona ChanGeneral Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Cataract surgery

    Dr Fiona Chan graduated from The University of Queensland in 1997 with First Class Honours before completing her residency at Princess Alexandra Hospital. She undertook specialist ophthalmology training in Queensland from 2003, qualifying in 2007, and has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Brisbane Eye Clinic since 2008, consulting across both the Brisbane CBD and Aspley locations.

    Dr Chan practises comprehensive adult ophthalmology in a consultative role, with a particular focus on glaucoma suspects, ocular hypertension, and mild to moderate glaucoma. She manages general adult ophthalmology including age-related macular degeneration, with an approach that emphasises careful long-term monitoring, individualised risk assessment, and evidence-based medical management of chronic eye disease.

    A Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, Dr Chan is involved in medical education, contributing to ophthalmology workshops for GP registrars and delivering educational lectures for optometrists.

    She is committed to thorough, patient-centred care — with a focus on clear communication and continuity of management.
