Dr Erwin GroeneveldFellowship trained Retina Surgeon with expertise in Age Related Macular Disease, Retinal vascular disease, Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery

    Dr Erwin Groeneveld graduated from University of Queensland Medical School and completed ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital. He works in his Private Practice and he has served as a senior visiting consultant, advanced training supervisor and director of ophthalmology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

    His main interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of surgical and medical diseases of the retina and vitreous including retinal detachment, age related macular degeneration, vision threatening diabetic retinopathy, vitreous opacity, macular hole, glaucoma and cataract disease.

    He has served as an officer in the Australian Army Reserve, as an AusAID surgeon in the Pacific and on the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologist’s State Executive. He was a founding member and Director of the Queensland Eye Hospital, a Director of the Queensland Eye Institute and serves on the Peninsula Private Hospital Medical Advisory Committee.

    Together with his highly skilled clinical and surgical teams he strives to provide comprehensive solutions to complex ocular problems by applying his detailed knowledge and extensive experience for the benefit of his patients.
