What is uberASSIST?
uberASSIST is designed to provide additional assistance to seniors and people with disabilities. Driver-partners are specifically trained to assist riders into vehicles and can accommodate folding wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.
The company states that its driver partners receive the required training to deal with and assist passengers requiring unique access requirements.
Some of these services include folding wheelchairs, walkers and collapsing scooters. The service won’t yet cater for passengers requiring lifts or accessibility ramps, but it is expected these additional services will come in the near future.
To access the service, users need to order an Uber via the app as normal, enter the destination and when selecting the type of Uber on the bottom of your mobile screen, scroll through the uber options to Assist.
