Emergency private eye care is just a phone call away….

An experienced Specialist Ophthalmic Surgeon is accessible Monday through Saturday for patients who are fully covered by Private Hospital Insurance (Gold & Silver levels) to accept urgent or complex tertiary referrals  from Optometrists, Emergency Doctors or Primary Care Medical Practitioners.

Our priority call centre is attended Monday through Friday 8am – 5 pm. 

Outside these hours a Remote Call service is accessible through the step down call centre to provide assistance or advice.

Emergent eye care services include sudden onset vision loss (less than 24 hours) involving the central or peripheral visual field, large retinal tears or confirmed retinal detachments, severe eye pain associated with significant loss of vision and the sudden onset of double vision where the eye condition has been assessed as serious by a Doctor or Optometrist.

Consulting Fees are charged at Private rates and emergent cases requiring complex eye surgery are treated within Private Day Hospitals during normal working hours.

Out of pocket expenses are payable.

To access Medicare rebates or Private health insurance cover patients require referral by a doctor or optometrist.
